I reread your post, and yes, somehow I overlooked you saying you tried bcedit. I had vista since birth but after the upgrade to 7 no luck on a stable driver build, and keep getting ppl telling/saying to just use the vista driver but this I had to do this for development using libusb. In my case I had been trying to manually export the cert after a manual install from the "Trusted Publishers" in certmgr.msc and then import it elsewhere. Fortunately, there are ways to force the unsigned drivers to load in 64-bit (x64) versions of Windows 7, 8 and Vista. If someone has engaged in behavior that is a detriment to the message board -- spamming, flaming people, etc -- contact one of the forum moderators or report the post.
