This is unusual. As you know, RDP uses the endpoint interface for audio. Disabling the beep.sys doesn't work, which is understandable seeing as it no longer has anything to do with the internal speaker (if I'm not totally misunderstanding the article, that is!) It would disappear at random and would only reappear if the sticky key setup procedure was repeated.
