If I didn't need a new video card right now, I'd hang on for a little while longer. XP not recognizing card and won't accept NT drivers. This isn't to say that bleeding-edge PC gaming doesn't often makes you fiddle with your setup, at least a bit. I would personally recommend however that you get rid of the card - for next to nothing you can buy GeForce 2 GTS or Titaniums nowadays that will smoke that card,

I really appreciate the help. In a fast moving game, though, it's surprising how little this matters. They know that the flagship 3D action game of the moment is Quake III Arena (Q3A), and they know that reviewers tend to do graphics card benchmarks using Q3A's timedemo mode.
It's speedy, and it's easy to develop for, but only 3dfx cards have drivers that support it.

Video quality The Viper II does a sterling job of DVD playback, but that's no big deal unless you've got a slow CPU. On the minus side, game manufacturers don't seem to care much about this API.
