I dont want to format as I have all my data on this drive... And rebooting like a bazillion times... My current System:Mainboard: ASRock Z97 Extreme6, CPU: Intel Core i5 4690, Disks: 512 GB Samsung 840 Pro SSD + 2 TB Seagate SATA3 HDD running in AHCI mode, Graphics: Intel HD4600, DFI, IPC manufacturer, Embedded Computer, Embedded Motherboard, Industrial Computer, Industrial PC, Industrial system, Embedded Motherboard, ODM, OEM, Custom board, Intel, Haswell, Bay Trail, Intel Atom, Intel Core, AMD, ARM, Freescale, Industrial Check This Out

This "successfull boot" is logged into the DMI pool data of the bios/chipset.. Dont format it. I don't mind borking the fast-track RAID-0 C: install but I seriously don't want to bork the install on the SSD's because it means re-flashing each SSD and resetting bios a Get the answer CrashmanJul 10, 2005, 4:36 PM SATA drivers are never needed for on-chipset controllers in non-RAID mode. check out to see if you are in the group that owns the raid volume.

  1. Nate, if you can't get by w/out using the drivers, on the cd or floppy look for nvatabus.sys that is the non-raid driver.
  2. Do I need to add "hard disk delay" in the bios?
  3. If I unplug the promise controller/disks, then open f10 mediashield thing, set the array to boot; turn off computer/reconnect the promise controller...
  4. I can see the two HDs I have set up as a raid appear and separate individual drives under My Computer but can't access them unless I format them which is
  5. Then I shut down the computer, to prevent windows from not finding profiles/pagefile etc..

  7. I deleted the boot partition off the Promise array, disconnected the 30GB backup/setup disk from primary IDE..

I had it working pretty fast before moving to the SSD array, the SSD's bench at 500+MBPS writes from 128K files up, and read 700+MBPs before I was stuck at 7MBps But, there is hardware support for AHCI as long as it's implemented properly at the BIOS settings and an AHCI driver is loaded afterwards.
